Last weekend I had to carry on the Lucero tradition of going to the National Western Stock Show. I remember going with my family every year to the Stock Show and the rodeo. Several years we went twice, once to see everything and then again to help my mom with her sheep dogs. So it is only fitting that I carry on the tradition with my family.
Cooper is still a little to young to sit through a whole rodeo so we just checked out the animals. We told Cooper that we were going to see some animals and he was really excited to see some elephants, so we had to explain that we were going to see farm animals not elephants. Cooper would not give up the idea that he was going to see elephants until he got to get up close and personal with a pot belly pig.
The pig really didn't want to be best friends with Cooper but Cooper did not give up. Cooper chased that pig around till he was able to get down and see eye to eye with him, and I do mean eye to eye. Cooper had his nose right up to the pig's snout! Of course it happened way to fast and we missed the shot because we were laughing so hard, but we did mange to get one with his new best pal.
