Denver Zoo

Jake had the Friday before the 4th off so we made our annual summer trip to the Denver Zoo. Papa met us there for a fun day with the animals. Cooper really enjoyed this trip, it was so special to see him so interested in the animals. He would stop and ask questions and run on to the next exhibit. It was just a great family day!

Last year we took the same picture. I think this will be one of our family's traditions.

No visit to the zoo would be complete without the question, "Mommy and Daddy what are they doing?"
I pulled out the map about half into the trip to see where we were headed to next and Cooper asked to see the map too. That right there was my mistake because what did he spot right away, the train of course. (Our plan was to hit the train last because we know once he gets on, it will be hard to get him off.) For the rest of the trip he would not let go of the map and would point out the train and we would have to point out where we were and what else we had to see before we made our way over to the train.

Papa and Cooper stopped to make some music together.
Cooper was able to feed some nectar to some birds. It was so neat that he could get up so close to them. He loved going from bird to bird to bird feeding them.

We finally made it to the train and took three around trips. He talked to the conductor while waiting for the train to fill up for the next trip.
