Elf on the Shelf

Last year my friends were telling me all about Elf on the Shelf and how great it is. So this year I thought I would give it a try ......................... and let me tell you it is worth its weight in gold! For those of you who don't know what Elf on the Shelf is let me give you the quick low down.

When you buy Elf on the Shelf you get the Elf and a book to read to your child. The question is how does Santa know if you have been a good girl or boy? Santa has sent your own special elf that you get to name, Cooper named ours Smartie. (He loves Smarties) Every night Smarties goes to the North Pole to tell Santa if you were a good boy. Every morning Smartie is in a new place so it is like a treasure hunt every morning. Cooper is not a morning person at all so getting him out of bed the morning takes about 10 minutes, can't imagine what life will be like when he is a teenager! But with Smartie around Cooper is up and out of bed in less then a minute seeing where Smartie moved to next. There are a few rules that go with Santa's elf-
1. You can't touch Smartie, it will rub off his Christmas magic.
2. Smartie can't talk but you can tell him your Christmas wishes.
3. Smartie can see you no matter where you are.
4. Smarties last day with you will be Christmas Eve because Santa will take him back to the North Pole when he comes.

Love Elf on the Shelf!
